The number of undergraduates enrolled in the College of Criminal Justice grew from 2958 in the Fall of 2014 to 3126 in the Fall of 2015. This is approximately a 5.5% increase in undergraduate enrollment.
The number of undergraduate students increased in both of our degree programs. Criminal Justice BA/BS majors increased from 2832 to 2959 over the last academic year. Victim Studies BA/BS majors increased from 126 to 167 over the last year.

The College of Criminal Jusitce hired three new faculty members during the academic year of 2014-2015 in the Departments of Criminal Justice and Criminology and Forensic Science. Dr. Buzzini was hired in the Department of Forensic Science. Dr. Blasko was hired in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology. Dr. Veasey was hired in a clinical position to be split between the Departments of Forensic Science and Criminal Justice and Criminology. All three of these faculty members are extremely competitive and will help our efforts to sustain an effective and competitive educaiton to our undergraduate and graduate students.

THe College of Criminal Justice will continue to examine the development of degree programs that will assist our students in the field and workforce. During the next academic year, the Department of Security Studies will propose a new minor in Security Studies. This will enable our criminal justice majors, as well as other majors across campus, the ability to specialize in this field.
The College of Criminal Justice will also support the self-study of three graduate programs in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology. During the next academic year the Criminal Justice MS Online program, the Criminal Justice PhD program, and the Criminal Justice and Criminology MS program will undergo self-studies. These self-studies will allow these programs to continue to improve in effectivess and competitiveness.

Historically, the College applied for $6.68 million (2011-2012), $7.72 million (2012-2013), $12.11 million (2013-2014), and $8.14 million (2014-2015, aka FY 2015).
FY 2014 was a huge year for us. We applied for $12.11 million in externally funded research grants, and we secured at least $3.95 million (some projects are still pending, even now). FY 2014 was a banner year for us, in terms of applications AND awards.
During FY 2015 (last year) we applied for $7.274 million in external research grants last year (and $64,838 in internal funding). We are still hearing about awards (and rejections, which will still be forthcoming since we are early in the award/rejection calendar), but thus far, for FY 2015, we have secured $1.91 million.
