Students will be able to demonstrate competency in key areas of Construction Management by successfully demonstrating skills in an Estimation Course. The Estimation Course serves as a capstone requirement with required skills in construction math, material pricing, bid tabulation, and project scheduling.

Indicator
ITEC 4369 Cost Estimation
All students enrolled in the program must complete an estimation class ITEC 4369. The course addresses key concepts and skills relevant to project cost estimation relative to the field of Construction and Construction Management.  Students will be expected to achieve a 2 or higher on a scale of 0-4, with 0=incompetent, 1=marginal competency, 2=proficient, 3=accomplished, 4=mastered. 70% of the evaluated students will score a 2 or higher.

Criterion
Accomplished Skills
There is a consensus that at least 80% of the students will make a 2 or higher.

Finding
Estimation Outcome
Average score for the assessed students was a 2.5, thus, indicating profeciency.  No student scored below a 2.0, however, as a whole the lowest assessed area was bid tabulation. All students showed mastery of project scheduling.

Action
Improvement
Due to computer software issues, students were limited on computation sections of bids and bid estimation.  This issue forced hand comutations and created limitations.

Goal
Develop Professional Skills
Students will gain necessary work force experience to compete in the construction field.

Objective
Demonstrate Professional Skills
Students completing the BS in Construction Management will demonstrate skills necessary to compete in the professional marketplace through an internship.

Indicator
ITEC 4391 Internship Evaluation
All students enrolled in the program must complete ITEC 4391 in their final year of enrollment. ITEC 4391 addresses key concepts and skills, as well as practical demonstrations of competency relevant to the field of construction management. Each semester interns will be evaluated by their internship supervisor and by their faculty supervisor on a faculty-developed rating scale.

Criterion
80% Meeting Expectations
It will be expected that at least 80% of the students enrolled in ITEC 4391 demonstrated will achieve above average standard (4 or higher) of performance on the supervisor rating scale.

Finding
Internship Performance
All students successfully completed their internship with assessed skill levels from the supervisor of 4 or 5.  According to the supervisor, the interns were professional with exceptional work ethics and knowledge of construction project management.  Skill levels met or exceeded the expectations of the job requirement.  Surveying skills was an area that few supervisors would like to see included in the curriculum.

Action
Improvement For Construction Outcomes
Survey course will be included in curriculum if faculty is identified to teach concepts.

Update to previous cycle's plan for continuous improvement Capstone course was redirected to Estimation.

Plan for continuous improvement Software issues are resolved and faculty is being identified to teach Surveying.
