With the help of Web Content Specalist Kim Mathie, the Center Website was completely redesigned and using DataZoa software, International, National, State, Regional, and Local economic and demographic data is now being displace and updated as new information is made available.

Research forums are meetings of COBA faculty and/or other invited presenters where research findings and/or ideas are presented and feedback is provided by faculty and/or others in attendance.

Center And Economics Department Seminar Series
During the fall, 2012 and spring, 2013 twelve seminars were held. The seminars included: "How Much are aurban Residents in Mexico Willing to Pay for Cleaner Air? Sept. 6. "The Cold-Foot Effect, Revisted", Sept. 21 "Emergency Department Utilizaiton by Hurrican Katraina Evacuees," Oct. 4. "Financial Reforms and Technical Efficiency in Indian Commercial Banking," Oct. 18. "Forecasting Fuel Prices During an Era of Rising Petroleum Prices," Nov. 1. "U.S. Trade in Information Intensive Services," Nov. 17 "Are the Macroeconomic Effects Greater from an Oil Price Shock or a Global Demand for Oil Shock? Feb. 19. Other seminars were also held.

It is the intention of the Gibson D. Lewis Center for Business and Economic Development to publish two issues of the Journal of Business Strategies during the 2010 - 2011 academic year.

During the fall, 2012 semester, vol 29, no. 2 was published and vol. 30, no. 1 was published during the spring, 2013 semester.

Manuscripts continue to be submitted, peer reviewed and decisions made as to whether to publish. It is anticipated that during the fall, 2013 semester, vol. 30, no. 2 will be published.

Economic Impact Of SHSU On The Local And Regional Economies.
During the fall, 2012, spring and summer of 2013 data was collected to analyze the impact of Sam Houston State University on the Walker County economy and the 10 regional counties surrounding Walker County.
Action
Calculate And Present Resulting Showing The Economic Impact Of SHSU On The Local And Regional Economies.
Using the information collected during the fall, 2012, and spring, 2013 semesters the eonommic impact of SHSU will be calculate and presented to Dr. Gibson.
