The Visitor Center will implement assessments to allow for improvements in areas that are not as effective.
Objective
Student Tracking
The Visitor Center will convert visiting prospective students to applicants/enrolled students at SHSU.
KPI
Conversion
Through the use of data tracking, we will run reports through Hobsons to determine the percentage of students (of applicable age) who apply and subsequently enroll after they attend a visitor center presentation and tour. The end goal is to have a conversion rate of greater than or equal to 50%.

Individual Students are students that visit on their own, not with a school group or organization.
School Group Students are students that visit as part of a sanctioned school or organization trip.
Action
Partnership
We plan to partner with Undergraduate Admissions to increase "Group" conversions. The hope is to bring in Undergrad Counselors to meet with the groups from their prospective area. This would give the group a familiar face to interact with while on campus.
Additionally, we will start a campaign to reach out to the group sponsor before their arrival to make aware of outstanding documents/information on group students that have started applications but are incomplete.
Goal
Mobile Technology
Integration of smartphone technology to enhance visit experience.
Objective
Smartphone Application
A smartphone application will be implemented as a tool to enhance the visit experience for prospective students.
KPI
Implementation
A smartphone application will be implemented by March 1, 2013 for the spring campus preview day.
Result
Mobile Application Live
The SHSU mobile event application went "live" (soft open) on March 25, 2013. The goal of implementation of March 1, 2013 was not met. However, we did have the application, albeit as a soft open, up and running before the spring campus preview day on April, 6, 2013.
The branded, fully functional, application went "live" on May 2, 21013.

Retire Objective
We have successfully implemented the mobile smartphone application. Enhancements will continue to be made but we will retire the objective.
