As a result of the IT@SAM decision to purchase TutorTRAK/AdvisorTRAK scheduling software, efforts to purchase Titanium software have been put on hold and our contract with the vendor has become void.
Consequently our goal to train Career Services staff to use Titanium and make it available for our use by the start of the Fall 2013 semester likewise has been tabled.
Career Services will join other departments in implementing TutorTRAK/AdvisorTRAK when notified by IT@SAM that customization and technological logistics on their end have been complete.

Timeline Of Actions Taken To Purchase And Implement Titanium Schedule Software
October 2012 - The Career Services Director contacted two departments on campus currently using Titanium for scheduling/tracking purposes to seek their feedback on Titanium's effectiveness, ease of use and cost. Both the SHSU Money Management Center and the SHSU Counseling and Disability Services Center gave positive reviews. The Director of Counseling and Disability Services gave a brief tutorial on the program to the Career Services Director and then sent current pricing information.
October 2012 - Titanium sales and support staff were contacted to request product information and a pricing quote.
November 2012 - This information, once received, was sent to the IT@SAM Department to obtain their approval for purchase form.
March 2013 - Received approval form from IT@SAM necessary for our department to purchase the program with our P-Card. Requests for funds to continue the Titanium licenses for our office for the 2013-2014 Academic Year were included in our Student Service Fee Budget Request Proposal. The Office of the V.P. for Enrollment Management approved funds to be made available to pay for the subscription for the remainder of 2012-2013 year until funds for the next academic year were received.
April 18, 2013 - Titanium contract was submitted to SHSU Office of General Counsel for review and approval. After several modifications made to the contract the contract was agreed upon by both SHSU representatives and the Titanium vendor.
April 28, 2013 - Contract was sent to IT@SAM to establish a start date that fit their implementation schedule. Contract was put in hold because IT@SAM wished to explore other scheduling software options that could be used campus-wide rather than only by a few departments.
June 2013 - Director of Career Services was invited to attend a tutorial and introduction to the program IT@SAM was considering purchasing in lieu of Titanium. TutorTrac/Advisor Trac was introduced and a guest password given to explore the program back in our offices.
July 2013 - The decision was made by IT@SAM to go forth with TutorTRAC/AdvisorTRAC implementation but a date has not yet been established.

Career Counselor Positions Created And Approved
May 31, 2013 - Three new Career Counselor positions were officially approved. These three positions were created to serve as Career Counselor Liaisons to specific university colleges: The College of Business Administration, The College of Criminal Justice, and The College of Education. These professionals will perform all the job functions of our two current Career Counselors but will be tasked with providing career development advising and counseling, career assessments, resume writing and critiques, workshops, mock interviews and special programs for the administration, faculty, students and alumni of each of the three Colleges named.
June 17, 2013 - Three new Career Counselor positions were posted on the SHSU Human Resources Employment page.
June-July, 2013- Over 30 applications were collected and reviewed to identify candidates to interview, interview questions were finalized and 11 candidates were initially chosen for the first round of interviews.
The first three of the eleven interviews were conducted on August 1, 2013.
The Director of Career Services will meet with the Deans of these colleges on August 2, 2013 to coordinate collaborating on hosting second and final round interviews.
