Research forums are meetings of COBA faculty and/or other invited presenters where research findings and/or ideas are presented and feedback is provided by faculty and/or others in attendance.

Research Forums Held
In conjunction with the Department of Economics and International Business the Gibson D. Lewis Center cosponsored the Economics Seminar Series. Seminars were held on the following dates. In the fall, s011 semester; September 6 and 21; October 4 and 18; November 1, 28, and 30 and December 7. During the spring, 2012 semester seminars were held on March 7, 20, and 28; April 4 and 17; and May 2.
Action
Seminar Series
Cosponoriing the Seminar series with the Department of Economics and International Business continues to be successful. During the next year we will attempt to get presenters from several departments within the College of Business Administration.

The intention of the Gibson D. Lewis Center for Business and Economic Development is to publish faculty research and/or pedagogical papers.

Faculty research and/or pedagogical papers will be published in hard copy and made available on the Center website.

In the fall, 2011 semester two Working Papers were published and placed on the Center Website. (1) "Leadership Sagacity and Its Relationship with Individual Creative Performances and Innovation." (2) On (Not) Closing The Gaps: The Evolution of National and Regional Unemployment Rates by Race and Ethnicity." In the spring, 2012 the "Working Paper "Short-Selling Constrainsts: The Asymmetric Role of Institutional Ownership, Relataive Short Interest, Options and Dividends." was published and place on the Center Website.

Publish Journal Of Business Strategies
It is the intention of the Gibson D. Lewis Center for Business and Economic Development to publish two issues of the Journal of Business Strategies during the 2010 - 2011 academic year.

Volumne 28, Number 2 and Volumne 29, Number 1 were published during the fall, 2011 and spring, 2012 semesters.

The staff of the Gibson D. Lewis Center for Business and Economic Development intends to publish research that measures the economic impact of various economic events and/or entities.

During the 2011-2012 period the Center did not perform any economic impact studies.
Action
Impact Studies
The Center acquired version 3 of IMPAN, a software package that will allow the Center to conduct impact studies of a variety of economic entities. Staff is learning how to use the software and plans to use to measure the economic impact of various economic entities.
