2011 - 2012

Registrar

Goal
Tuition Rebate Process
Better publicty to the graduating seniors concerning the tution rebate.

Objective
Linking The Tuition Rebate Form To Several Websites
Will be adding links for the tuition rebate to several different web pages to help publicize the rebate application

KPI
Number Of Tuition Rebate Apps Arriving In The Registrar's Office
By creating the links and making the rebate more accessible, we should receive more applications, earlier in the semester. The targeted goal is a 10% increase.

Result
Increased Awareness
A link was added to the destination graduation web page http://www.shsu.edu/~reg_www/destination/index.html.  This provided the students with easier access.

Our procedure for tracking the tuition rebates was flawed and resulted in unusable data.  Thus, instead of increasing rebates, we actually decreased.

Action
Refining The Process
We are refining our process/procedure for tracking the rebates.  Our goals are to be consistent and increase rebates.  We will be more diligent in the coming year.

Goal
Banner Implementation - Student Module
The Banner Student Module will be successfully implemented for registration and other student requirements.

Objective
Banner Student Module Going Live
The Banner Student Module will go live within the 2010-2011 academic year.

KPI
Student Registration
Student registration using the Banner Student Module during 2010-2011 will be the indicator.

Result
Registration Is Live
Student Registration has been successful.  Students are registering, receiving appropriate pre-requisite checks, blocks, etc. Dropping is a manual task and is time consuming, and running reports for departments is still a work-in-progress.

Action
Goal Achieved
This goal has been met and will be retired.

Goal
Banner Implementation - Ad Astra
The Ad Astra module of Banner will be used to schedule classrooms.

Objective
Ad Astra Used To Schedule Rooms
For the 2010-2011 academic year, Ad Astra will be used to schedule classrooms for course offerings.

KPI
Scheduled Classrooms Using Ad Astra Software
Ad Astra used to schedule classroom will be the indicator. Goal is to schedule the classrooms and to produce reports the departments can use to predict course need, space needs, etc. with at least 75% success initially.

Result
Ad Astra Scheduling
Data within the Ad Astra system was not consistent and we were unable to pilot or beta test the software.

Action
Testing
Data within the Ad Astra system was not consistent and we were unable to pilot or beta test the software.  We are now preparing to test room scheduling in Ad Astra.  This item remains a goal.

Update to previous cycle's plan for continuous improvement

Plan for continuous improvement It has been a rather rough year for assessment.  Although we did link the rebate procedure to several websites, our tracking system was not consistent.  Thus, instead of increasing rebates, we actually decreased them.  We are taking steps to be more consistent with data tracking. We had hope that Ad Astra would provide central scheduling of classrooms and provide departments with needed information.  Because information had been entered by several entities, we were not able to pilot the program this year.  However, we are in the process of testing room scheduling with the software. We did have one bright spot; Although it is still a work-in-progress, the Banner Student Module has successfully allowed student to register for classes while still maintaining certain gate-keeper functions.
