Committee Members To Curate Exhibitions
The Gallery committee decided to have faculty curate the gallery this year so exhibitions could be more focused thematically. Previously we curated from submitted proposals. This year we have relied on the expertise of our faculty to select artists whose work would be relevant to the learning objectives of our courses. So we have a photo exhibition curated by a photo professor, a video/performance exhibition curated by the professor who teaches Performance and Video Art and an exhibition of art that incorporates creative writing and fine art by me. This also provides research/service opportunities for our faculty since curating an exhibition is analogous to editing a journal.
