2010 - 2011

Registrar

Goal
Tuition Rebate Process
Better publicty to the graduating seniors concerning the tution rebate.

Objective
Linking The Tuition Rebate Form To Several Websites
Will be adding links for the tuition rebate to several different web pages to help publicize the rebate application

Indicator
Number Of Tuition Rebate Apps Arriving In The Registrar's Office
By creating the links and making the rebate more accessible, we should receive more applications, earlier in the semester.

Criterion
50% Increase
Objective will be considered met if there is a 50% increase over the past year.

Finding
Less Than 50% Increase
We were not able to make at least a 50% increase over 2009-2010, specifically we had approximately 250 applications.  In analyzing what happened, we discovered the assistant registrar who processes these,  believes it dropped because she did not send out the emails this last year; instead she relied only on the website advertisement of the rebate to bring the applications in.

Action
Use Website And E-mails
We had planned to retire this objective.  However, the results have convinced us that there are still procedures to improve. So, the assistant registrar will begin sending out the email reminders on the rebate to the students this fall and see if we can get those to increase again.

Goal
Banner Implementation - Student Module
The Banner Student Module will be successfully implemented for registration and other student requirements.

Objective
Banner Student Module Going Live
The Banner Student Module will go live within the 2010-2011 academic year.

Indicator
Student Registration
Student registration using the Banner Student Module during 2010-2011 will be the indicator.

Criterion
Successful Student Registration
The criterion will be the success of student registration using the Banner Student Module.

Finding
Summer Registration
The Banner Student Module was used successfully for summer 2011 student registration.  There were a few problems; however, most were solved quickly.

Action
Next Steps
The next step is to use the Banner Student Module for successful registration throughout the 2011-2012 academic year.

Goal
Banner Implementation - Ad Astra
The Ad Astra module of Banner will be used to schedule classrooms.

Objective
Ad Astra Used To Schedule Rooms
For the 2010-2011 academic year, Ad Astra will be used to schedule classrooms for scheduled classes.

Indicator
Scheduled Classrooms Using Ad Astra Software
Ad Astra used to schedule classroom will be the indicator.

Criterion
At Least 60%
At least 60% of the classrooms will be scheduled for classes using the Ad Astra software.

Finding
Ad Astra Not Yet Used
All the resources went to implementing the student module so that Ad Astra was not used this year for classroom scheduling.

Action
Pilot Program
The goal for the coming academic year will be to pilot the use of Ad Astra with one college.

Update to previous cycle's plan for continuous improvement

Plan for continuous improvement Many of our goals were successful this year such as increasing the processed rebate tuition applications and implementing the student module in Banner for summer registration.  We were not so successful with the Ad Astra module to centrally schedule classrooms. We have to tweak our procedures to reach the tuition rebate application goals.  For the coming 2011-2012 year, we will be adding elements of the student module so that it functions more seamlessly.  We will also be piloting the Ad Astra module with one college to work out the kinks before we attempt the process with the entire university.
