Update to previous cycle's plan for continuous improvement

Plan for continuous improvement The University Center in The Woodlands started the Fall 2010 semester with only three partner institutions.  During this semester, SHSU had a ground breaking ceremony for their new facility which should be opening in the Summer of 2012.  The opportunity for this new facility is attributed to the consistency of enrollments, the commitment by departments, and the personnel for SHSU in The Woodlands over the past 13 years.  With the stability of support, SHSU personnel in The Woodlands were able to achieve their goal for this objective.

In addition, the programs and services provided by the departments on the main campus are critical for the students attending classes in The Woodlands. With over 500 students never stepping foot on the main campus in Huntsville until possibly graduation, services like study skills sessions, a GRE prep course, Bearkat One ID’s, and advisement for new/prospective students are vital opportunities. Furthermore, the Graduate Information Sessions, the tutor for Finance students, and the Writing Center representative provided additional possibilities for SHSU students and this helped SHSU in The Woodlands achieve their goal for this objective.

By enhancing academics through instructional support for testing services, SHSU in The Woodlands will provide instructors a sufficient amount of time to ensure student’s needs are being met.  By making available this support, SHSU in The Woodlands was able to achieve their goal for this objective.
