Action
Teaching Issues
When teaching seminars are scheduled once school begins, it is difficult to have all faculty attend.  Actually, the data seem to indicate the best attendance at regularly scheduled FOL meetings.  It may be advantageous to schedule mini-teaching-seminars during regularly scheduled meetings.  Still, when seminars are available at SHSU, faculty will be invited to attend as they are able.

Questionnaire Compilation
Questionnaire input was compiled anonymously from spring 2011 graduates.

The vast majority felt that no changes were necessary.  All but one who did not answer agreed with the requirements. One concern had to do with CLEPing the initial classes and practice missed in order to comfortably complete the grammar course; another protested the Latin American History requirement in the core.

Action
Faculty Discussion
Faculty Discussion of questionnaire contents will be conducted via reply-all cyber discussion during summer 2011 and at the fall 2011 FOL retreat.

Update to previous cycle's plan for continuous improvement

Plan for continuous improvement The department faculty will discuss the attendance results and determine how to best deliver teaching seminars to faculty.

We have made amazing progress in compiling information to review.  The reviews are still in progress.  Specific plans will be added by 9/1/2011.
