The gallery will host visiting artists and professionals to lecture, curate exhibitions, demonstrate media and methods, and critique student work.

The gallery will invite visiting artists to campus. Visiting artists will give lectures and/or demonstrations that are open and promoted to University faculty, staff, and students and to the community at large. The Visiting Artists will be selected by the Gallery committee in conjunction with exhibition proposals and from faculty recommendations. Artists will be chosen based on: • national reputation. • perceived benefit to Art Department students. • perceived benefit to the local community in terms of enhancing awareness of contemporary art.

The Gaddis Geeslin Gallery will exhibit the work of graduating seniors. The student work will demonstrate and be used to evaluate:

Works by graduating seniors were held at the end of the Fall and Spring Semesters in 2010 and 2011. The Graphic Design Senior Portfolio class also held an exhibition of Graphic Design work a the end of the spring semester.

Juried Exhibition
The Gaddis Geeslin Gallery will bring an nationally renowned arts professional who is an artist, a curator, gallerist, or museum director to judge student work. Every full time art student will be allowed to submit up to 3 artworks in any medium. The juror will choose artworks to be in an exhibition. Awards will be given to Best of Show, Best 2D Artwork, Best 3D Artwork, Best Animation, Best Graphic Design. The artwork will be selected based on • craftsmanship • originality • content • other criteria determined by the juror

Juried Student Exhibition
A juried student exhibition will be held annually, in the spring semester. The works in the exhibit and awards will be selected by a juror from outside the university.

12th Annual Juried Student Exhibition
The 12th Annual Juried Student Exhibition was held April 4-21 2011. The work was Juried by Josephine Durkin, an artist who teaches at Texas A&M Commerce. 66 students were included in the exhibition and awards were given to 13 works of student art.

The Gaddis Geeslin gallery will plan the 13th annual juried student exhibition to be held in Spring 2012 and secure a juror from an arts profession outside of the university to select the winners.

Exhibit Art From Around The United States
The Gaddis Geeslin Gallery will host exhibitions of contemporary art in a variety of medium by artists from diverse backgrounds from all over United States. The exhibitions will be open to the public. University faculty, staff, students and members of the local community will be encouraged to attend.

Gallery Committee Will Review Proposals
The Gallery Committee of the Art Department is composed of 3-4 art faculty members and a staff member from Visual Resources. The committee will distribute an open call for exhibition proposals to artists through a variety of publicly available sources. These will include, but are not limited to the "Opportunities" board on College Art Association website, the "Call for Entries" board on the Glasstire website, and an advertisement in the magazine Art List. Submissions will be reviewed by the Gallery Committee. Artists will be chosen on the basis of • quality of work • exhibition history and experience • representation of a cohesive body of work • relevance to the art department curriculum • relevance and benefit to the local community Artists will be grouped in exhibitions of 3 to 4 artists whose work has a relationship thematically and/or explores issues related to a particular medium.

4 Exhibitions By 7 Artists
The Gallery Committee reviewed over 100 exhibition proposals and chose work by 5 Artists for Exhibitions in 2010-2011. There was on solo exhibition and 3 2 person exhibitions by artists from across the US in 2010-11.

The Gallery Committee will put out a nationwide call for exhibition proposals for the 2011-12 season. The committee will select artists for one or two person or group exhibitions.

The Gaddis Geeslin Gallery will host an annual exhibition of recent works by all art department faculty. The art works will be the results of the faculty's current creative research. The Gaddis Geeslin Gallery will host an exhibition of works by new faculty in their first year of employment in the Art Department. Both exhibitions will be promoted and open to the university community and the public at large.

The 51st Annual Faculty Exhibition was held January 24-February 10, 2011 in the Gaddis Geeslin Gallery and featured work by all of the Art Faculty.
Action
Change Annual Exhibition To Biannual
The Gallery committee will not schedule a faculty exhibition for the 2011-12 season. The Faculty Exhibition will become a Biannual event to be held every other year.
