Using a program evaluation form and a focus group, 100 percent of the students who participated in the program indicated that their leadership skills were enhanced. However, several issues emerged during the focus group that will need to be addressed: attendance and community service.

Suicide And Mental Illness Awareness For Resident Advisors
The Students of Concern (SOC) Team, working in conjunction with Residence Life, will provide a new online course designed to help University resident advisors better understand the mental health issues and concerns of today's college students. The course for 2009-2010 was Suicide Prevention. Residence Life personnel who complete the course will report increased knowledge ragarding suicide prevention.

Suicide Prevention Learning Outcomes
According to a survey given before participating in the program only 34% of the 43 RAs indicated that they were very knowledgeable about suicide prevention programs. After completing the program 92% of the program participants indicated they were very knowledgeable about suicide prevention. However, after the program 4.66% said it was not very beneficial for inexperienced Residence Assistants (RA), and 30.23% were neutral as to whether it was beneficial to inexperienced RAs.

The Residence Life Office due to the overwhelming success of this RA Staff Development Program made the decision to repeat this program again as well as add an additional online program as part of RA training for the 2010 - 2011 academic year. The Dean of Students office will no longer be involved in the program.

The results of the Discipline Annual Report, completed at the end of the academic year, 2009-2010, revealed an increase in drug offences on campus. It is not clear whether the number has increased due to more law enforcement or whether there was actually a significant increase of drug offences than in previous years.

Drug Offense Intervention
Judicial Affairs will continue to maintain a database as well as develop programming in response to common disciplinary areas. Students who have been disciplined for drug offenses will be referred to additional education provided by the Alcohol and Drug Initiative. Additional drug education programs will be provided to residence life.
