We exceeded our expectations in all three areas (enrollment, recruiting, and community/university event participation). In fall 2010 we will make changes to our website which should help us improve our recruitment strategies and enrollment numbers. These changes are: (1) we will add a link to the website that allows prospective students to complete an online survey designed to capture prospective students' opinions regarding the usefulness of the website's content. We will use the survey data to make revisions to the website prior to spring 2011 and (2) We will add a link to our website that directs students to the the newly created SHSU Veterans Resource Center. We will continue to expect an increase in the number of university and community related events we attend.

The off-campus training programs and the degree plan meet the standards and requirements dictated by the US Army. The programs and degree plan offer students ample opportunity to develop leadership skills. In fall 2009 our cadets along with cadets from the United States Military Academy at West Point began participating in the Platoon Leader forum (MILSPACE). Army officers serving abroad communicate with cadets. The officers provide cadets a description of real field situations and ask the cadets how they would handle the situations. The officers provide an evaluation of the cadets' responses.
