International visitors from Japan informed the university community about various international issues. OIP organized a panel discussion using international students and faculty on issues relating to acculturation of transients for the clinical psychology doctoral program. International week will be held April 2-9, 2009. Invited guests, international students and faculty members will focus on topics for the internationalization of the university.

During academic year 2008-2009, an orientation for new students was offered at the beginning of each semester. Workshops on Curricular Practical Training/Optional Practical Training, H-1B (employment opportunities), tax filing and building study skills were offered. Social activities included the Fall Picnic, Fall Coffee, first Saturday shopping/sightseeing trips to local Houston area and the Spring Meet and Greet designed for international students to meet local students, faculty and staff.
