Students in the Health BS Fitness program will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level positions in the field.

Health Content Knowledge Assessment
This indicator assesses the discipline specific content, skill knowledge, and competencies in health fitness. Students are assessed for content mastery by using multiple-choice, short-answer, and other questioning methods and techniques that are specific to the program content area and competencies. Students in the program will achieve a score of at least 70% on all tests and other content related assignments/competencies.

80% of students in the BS Health program achieved the target score of 70% on all assignments, 90% of the students achieved the target score of 70% on all projects, and 68% of the students achieved the target score of 70% on all tests.

Content Knowledge Analysis
After a review of the current performance of students in the Health BS Fitness program, the faculty have decided to continue to focus on content knowledge area concepts and competencies. The health faculty /curriculum committee will review annually the core health fitness courses to make sure that the content knowledge concepts and competencies are included. This will allow for students to gain more experience, practice, and application of the competencies. As revealed in the findings, students did not meet the target on all tests. Therefore, greater emphasis will be placed on content delivery and more opportunities given for students to apply content knowledge prior to taking the tests.

This indicator assesses students' effective use of oral and written communication skills. Students in the program will be able to perform the following tasks as evidence of their improved communication skills: -class discussions -oral presentations -writing assignments data from observation of oral communication -feedback analysis on oral and writing assignments

100% of program students achieved the target score of 80% on class discussions, 88% of students achieved the target score of 80% on oral presentations, and 75% of students achieved the target score of 80% on writing assignments.
Action
Analysis Of Communication Skills
After a review of the current state of course findings, the program faculty have decided that more focus should be placed upon oral and written communication skills. Each course will include at least one more mandatory oral and writing assignment so that the students will gain more experience, practice, and application of this competency.
