The curriculum will address the discipline specific knowledge dictated by professional societies and/or professionals in the workforce.

Students Will Develop Specific Animal Science Knowledge And Skill Base
Students, through the Horticulture and Crop Science curriculum, will develop a knowledge base in agronomy, turfgrass, landscape design, foral design, etc. which will encompass science and application. In specific courses, skills will be learned through laboratory activities.

The curriculum will provide students with opportunities to develop the appropriate speaking and writing skills to function as a professional in the area.

Students Will Demonstrate Competence In Communication Skills
Students, through both written and oral exercises, will demonstrate competence in communication.

Communication Skill Activities
Students will be required to demonstrate their skill in writing technical reports and speaking skills in their field of study.

Criterion
Skill Standards
Each student must achieve a combined score of 70% or better on their written and oral activities.

Finding
Skill Set Summary
Over 80% of the students received a 70% or better on their communication activity report.

Action
Communication Skill Activities
Faculty in Horticulture will continue to require students to perform activities that will improve their competency in writing and oral presentation.

Plan for continuous improvement A new faculty was added to the Horticulture and Crop Science faculty team, they will consider and develop curriculum provide more depth to the curriculum to provide students with advanced skill in horticulture, floral design, turfgrass and landscaping knowledge and skill set.
