Action
Increasing The Number Of Professional Presentations Of Graduate Students In This Program.
There have been no candidates in this program for several year. In our efforts to develop a Masters of Arts in Teaching, instead of Curriculum and Instruction, and use this program as our certification/masters 30 hour program. In this plan, students would participate in action research and present their findings to their classmates as well as faculty in Curriculum and Instruction. Students would be strongly encouraged to present their research at professional conferences.

Develop Masters of Arts in Teaching to replace Masters of Arts in Curriculum andI nstruction.

Update to previous cycle's plan for continuous improvement

Plan for continuous improvement The Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction met one goal but not the other. The program had no candidates and therefore was not able to increase the number of professional presentations by its graduate students. The program was, however, able to gain approval for the 30 hour masters/certification program. This new program will be implemented during the Fall 2009 semester.

Upcoming Tasks/ Improvements

In light of moving from written comprehensive exams to graduate research projects, develop a data tracking system to measure the number of students who earned as A,B, or C on their graduate research project.  Once this data is collected, then set goals to improve the quality of graduate research projects.
