Goal
Deliver A Curriculum With Appropriate Discipline Specific Knowledge
The curriculum will address the discipline specific knowledge dictated by professional societies and/or professionals in the workforce.

Objective
Students Will Develop Specific Animal Science Knowledge And Skill Base
Students, through the agriculture degree curriculum, will develop a knowledge base in multiple areas of agriculture which will encompass science and theory base knowledge with application. In specific courses, skills will be learned through laboratory activities.

The curriculum in agriculture will provide students with information to provide a competency in specific topics relative to the agriculture industry with the potential professional growth.

90% of the students enrolled in agriculture courses will pass with an overall understanding and skill base.

The curriculum will provide students with opportunities to develop the appropriate speaking and writing skills to function as a professional in the area.

Students Will Demonstrate Competence In Communication Skills
Students, through both written and oral exercises, will demonstrate competence in communication.

Communication Skill Activities
Students will be required to demonstrate their skill in writing technical reports and speaking skills in their field of study.

Criterion
Skill Standards
Each student must achieve a combined score of 70% or better on their written and oral activities.

Finding
Skill Summary
Over 80% of the students received a 70% or better on their communication activity report.

Action
Communication Skill Assessment
Faculty in the department will continue to require students to perform activities that will improve their competency in writing and oral presentation.


Update to previous cycle's plan for continuous improvement

Plan for continuous improvement Faculty in the department will continue to review the curriculum to provide students with competency in agriculture knowledge and skills. They will continue to require communication skill based activities in their classroom activities. Faculty will encourage students to take courses that will increase their cultural background and provide them with a more global perspective.
