Update to previous cycle's plan for continuous improvement

Plan for continuous improvement During the 2008-2009 academic year, the technology staff compared the certification records with the schedule of classes to determine if the certification process for faculty teaching online classes was effective. Additionally, meetings were held with faculty in the largest online programs. Information revealed the need to improve the certification process as well as the need to improve communication between technical staff and faculty. For this academic year, there was an increase in faculty certifications, grants monies, and departmental staff. There were plans to offer the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership online. This has been rescheduled for Spring 2010. As we continue there will be more media offerings, classroom technologies, and a migration of current and planned offerings to e-college. During the year, a new office was created to more effectively address the instructional technology and distance learning needs of the campus. The newly hired Associate Vice President for Distance Learning will spearhead the efforts in the coming academic year and revamp the assessment efforts of this support unit.
