Student Knowledge Of Content Area
The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences will graduate General Family and Consumer Sciences majors who have an in-depth knowledge of the content areas of the major.

At least 80% of supervisors of family and consumer sciences interns would give the intern a rating of 3.5 or higher on a 5.0 scale.

Finding
Employer Satisfaction With FCS Interns
Overall, 50% of the intern supervisors gave the intern a rating of 3.5/5.0. The average score given to the graduating seniors by intern supervisors was 3.99/5.0. However, students in the certification program were rated by a different system than the non-certification majors; an average score of 3.0/5.0 is considered an appropriate rating for certification graduates, and the FCS graduates averaged a score of 3.16/5.0. The average score for non-certification students was 4.48/5.0.

Action
Employer Satisfaction With FCS Interns
Continue to provide a rigorous, current program that prepares students for a high-quality internship experience. Coordinate the FCS rating system more closely with the College of Education system used to rate certification students.
