Goal

To provide full support combined with continual improvement in the quality of education, scholarship, and service in compliance with the mission of the university.

1. Detailed Competence In Core Course Material
Students will command detailed competence of core course material.

Indicator
Successful Defense Of Thesis
As a final requirement of the degree program and prior to graduation, students will successfully write and orally defend a Thesis (CJ698, CJ699) for which findings are gathered and analyzed at the end of each semester.

Criterion
1(a) 80+% will successfully defend thesis within 2 years of completing coursework
At least 80% of students will successfully defend thesis within 2 years of graduation.

Finding
Expectations exceeded
Yes, in 2006-2007 32 students graduated from the Master of Arts program. Only one student did not finish within two years of completing course work.

Satisfaction With Program
Program Exit Survey will be conducted prior to graduation and analyzed annually to measure student's satisfaction with program.

1(d) 80+% will report being satisfied or very satisfied with the MA program.
At least 80% of students report being confident of substantive material competence.

A Senior Graduate Survey will be distributed to graduating seniors to measure the number of students who obtain employment in the CJ field upon graduation

Criterion
4(c) 75+% of studends will report having employment.
At least 75% of graduating seniors will employement upon graduation

50% reported having employment at time of graduation
