Goal For Bachelor Of Arts Degree In Photography. Students To Demonstrate Basic Skills.
To graduate students from a Bachelor of Arts program in Photography with demonstrated artistic, basic academic, intellectual, and literacy skills.

Indicator
Curriculum, Facility Operation, Faculty Evaluations.
The sturcture of courses, the operation of studios and labs, the assessment of instructors on IDEA evaluations, and the purposeful exposure of students to professional practices both within and outside the classroom.

Evaluation of course syllabi, assignments, and faculty IDEA scores.
Examination of course syllabi, course assignments, faculty IDEA scores.

Within the curriculum, courses are designed to provide an environment that allows for personal, independent photographic expression. Certain courses also contain the element of professional awareness and development.

Faculty to work together establishing and maintaining an environment that is positive and encouraging to the personal and professional growth of our students.

Students are continually evaluating their personal photographic work through instructor led in-class critiques. Some courses include written self evaluation, although it is uncommon.

Regular review of photographic courses, their content and sequencing, to insure a student centered curriculum.

To provide students with basic technical and aesthetic skills in order to support their personal photographic expression.

Acceptable Levels Of Student Work In Support Of Personal Photographic Objectives. Also Testing.
The technical and aesthetic sophistication of student work and their achievement of stated personal photographic objectives. Also through traditional testing methodologies that assess both technical and aesthetic knowledge.

Criterion
Instructor and testing evaluation of student work.
Instructors grade student work acceptable. Testing reflects passing grade.

All photography courses involve the learning and practice of new photographic skills, both aesthetic and technical. Certain courses include the testing of knowledge learned in the course.

Continue to Provide Fundamental Skills
Making sure that students are provided with the basic skills necessary to support their personal goals in photography.
